FAQ
What is life coaching?
Coaching is a process with the sole purpose of expanding and accelerating the personal and professional success of a person.
The ICF defines coaching as: “Professional coaching is an interactive process that helps individuals and organizations improve their performances and achieve extraordinary results. Professional coaches work with clients in all areas including business, career, finances, health and relationships. As a result of professional coaching, clients set better goals, take more action, make better decisions, and more fully use their natural strengths.”
How is life coaching different than therapy?
Coaching does not focus on “why,” but “what now?” It shifts problems into goals. It looks forward, not analyzes the past! Most importantly, Coaches DO NOT treat clinical disorders such as anxiety, depression, addiction and phobias.
Why should I hire a coach?
You should only hire a coach if you are ready to move forward and make some important changes in your life. Coaching asks that you are ready to be challenged, invigorated, inspired and accept accountability. Hiring a coach is the easy part… doing the work and re-thinking old belief systems in order to move forward toward the goals you want is rewarding and tough.
What makes you experienced to coach me?
I am a CTA Certified Coach with over 15 years experience in business and entertainment. I not only bring my expertise and achievements but I also bring by difficulties and disappointments so that you can learn from every aspect of my life skills.
How long will it take to see results?
That depends on your commitment. Normally, you can expect to achieve your coaching goals within 4 to 6 months, when you connect with your true ideal coach. The more accurate length of time will depend a lot on you. How fast you take to coaching, how quickly you take the actions you and your coach discover to be necessary to achieve your goals, and the nature of your goals will impact how long coaching will take to achieve your goals. Most Coaches will ask that you consign to at least a three month commitment. I don’t believe in forcing my clients into a time sensitive contract. I do believe that results happen in the clients own time – and I am happy to be a part of their process.
Are my conversations with my coach confidential?
Yes, I will never share the details of your conversations with anyone. In coaching, information drawn from the client is used by the coach to promote the client’s awareness and choice of action. This information is not used to evaluate performance or produce reports for anyone but the person being coached.
Are there some people that don’t benefit from Coaching?
Yes. Coaching is not for everyone because not everyone is ready for a coach. If you are looking for someone to give you advice, side with your point of view, fight your battles and tell you what you should do, than you are not ready for a coach and you will not benefit from the experience. Coaches are committed to challenge your faulty beliefs, explore your strengths, show you different perspectives and hold you accountable to the goals you set. They are always committed to support you and inspire you to create your vision and achieve your goals.
